The producer of Mass Effect Andromeda explains why this is their biggest title ever:
This is our biggest game ever created in terms of number of items and content. There are battle encounters, encounters with riddles, narrative encounters and lots of things to do on your way.
Mass Effect Andromeda: BioWare wants every area to be remarkable and memorable
Even secondary missions that are not necessary to the evolution of the story must mark the player. You are in a new galaxy, there are many things where you have no idea what is going on there.
The scanner is a way to capture what’s in your environment, send information to your mothership to analyze it, and find those clues.
With the departure of Commander Shepard, Mass Effect Andromeda is about to introduce a whole new story as well as his lot of characters and new planets. And that says new planet says new alien species.
Indeed, during an interview for GameInformer, BioWare’s creative director, Joel Macmillan, unveiled a brand new alien race: the Kett.
Unfortunately, the video does not indicate the exact role of this species and does not specify the origin or the history behind this civilization.
On the other hand, Joel MacMillan reveals that the Kett will be the antagonists of the game, whose planet will be colonized by your hero.
The player can play as Scott or Sarah Ryder (in homage to the first American woman to go into space, Sally Ride), an overtrained explorer in search of a new land of welcome for humanity.
While exploring series of systems (four times larger than those of Mass Effect 3) aboard a ship called Tempest, he will collect resources and build settlements, getting to know the savagery of unexplored lands.
To survive and colonize, he will have to continually improve his arsenal, his ship, his team, he can pilot and personalize a land vehicle, the Nomad (the Mako equivalent in the first episode, much more ergonomic) Strategies to combat an increasing alien threat.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will take place in the Héléus area (a cluster of several hundred solar systems in the Andromeda Galaxy), far from Commandant Shepard and her heroic exploits made during the first Mass Effect trilogy. The story begins in 2185, during Mass Effect 2, and the new heroes will wake up 600 years later after their sleep in stasis.
On their way, Scott or Sarah Ryder (played by the player), the Pioneer’s children, will cross the remains of an ancient alien civilization, the Remnant, whose forgotten technology is the key to power in this region of the galaxy. By trying to find out more about the latter, he or she will be caught up in a quest that will decide the fate of all mankind.
